The smallest of the Pastelle family, Bastien elf is a grand 30cm tall. As the familiar saying goes, good things come in small packages and Bastien is absolute proof that this could not be more true. Whilst most at the North Pole rarely deviate from the traditional seasonal hues of red, green and gold, Bastien simply could not think of anything more mundane! This does not mean he doesn’t adore Christmas and Santa and the Reindeer and all the comes with it. Rather, he is just tired of the same old, same old.
Never phased by being an individual, this little sprite, Bastien with his tiny stature and ginormous heart found inspiration in, of all things, cotton candy! Whilst busy flying and winding this wonderfully sticky, sweet fairy floss around at the North Pole Fair he lost concentration, spiralling dizzily into the bowl of wicked deliciousness. As the colourful strands swirled and wrapped themselves around Bastien, he fell in love, and knew he needed this beauty of colour in his every day life.
That evening, Bastien Pastelle gathered fabric scraps from toy workshop took to the sewing machine and created the very first edition of what is now the Pastelle family cloth. Fairy Floss pink, velvet pants, sparkling blue hat and tie, iced blue vest and jacket detail all completed with shining silver detail. Bye bye boring, hello fabulous pastel!
